Four Types of Thinking

  • Supportive Thinking

When we think of ways to meet people where they’re at—emotionally, physically, psychologically, maturationally, and whatever else—and welcome them to participate in the dialogue in a way that is accessible to them, we’re using supportive thinking.

  • Focused Thinking

Focused thinking is the ability to narrow our attention to the task at hand, and only that task.

  • Creative Thinking

Creative thinking is the ability to generate new ideas, proposals, examples, or combinations thereof.

  • Critical Thinking

Critical Thinking is when we clarify and evaluate proposals, examples, theories, ideas, & etc., using tools from a variety of disciplines and traditions.
