Dialogue is increasingly recognized as a crucial component of education. Bringing dialogue into the classroom is easier said than done, however. In the course of 6 highly interactive and participatory sessions, you and your small cohort will learn the Community of Philosophical Inquiry (CPI) approach to dialogue facilitation through role-playing, facilitation exercises, and one-on-one feedback. Participants will gain competence and confidence in creating inclusive learning environments that foster Caring, Creative, and Critical thinking.
This course is presented through the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children (IAPC), and its structure, philosophical foundations, and content are inspired by the IAPC’s renowned residential summer seminar in Mendham, NJ. A Professional Development certificate of completion is available for educators (check with your local district for information about PD requirements).
